Here are some practical tips for taking good-quality photos that are meant to be uploaded (e.g., to school portals, registration forms, or documents):

📷 General Photo Tips

  1. Good Lighting is Key
    • Use natural light (near a window during the day) if possible.
    • Avoid backlighting and harsh shadows.
    • If using artificial light, ensure it's bright and evenly distributed.
  2. Use a Clean, Simple Background
    • Preferably a plain wall or uncluttered area.
    • Avoid busy or distracting backgrounds.
  3. Keep the Camera Steady
    • Use both hands, a tripod, or rest your phone on a stable surface.
    • Blurry photos may be rejected or unreadable.
  4. High Resolution
    • Ensure your camera or phone is set to high quality or HD mode.
    • Don't use zoom—move closer if needed.

🧍‍♂️ For ID/Portrait-Type Photos

  • Frame the subject from the shoulders up.
  • Center the face and make sure it's fully visible.
  • Remove hats, sunglasses, or filters.
  • Keep a neutral facial expression or a slight smile.

📄 For Document Photos

  1. Flat and Full View
    • Place the document on a flat, solid-colored surface.
    • Capture the entire document in the frame—no cut-off edges.
  2. Straight-On Angle
    • Take the photo directly above the document, not at an angle.
  3. No Shadows or Glare
    • Watch for your hand or phone casting shadows.
    • If the paper is glossy, shift the angle slightly to avoid glare.
  4. File Format & Size
    • Most uploads prefer JPG or PNG.
    • Try to keep files under the portal’s size limit (resize if needed).

Before Uploading

  • Review the photo: Is everything visible and clear?
  • Crop out extra background if needed.
  • Rename the file clearly (e.g., "BirthCertificate_Brianna.jpg").
