2024 Announcements

TK & Kindergarten Virtual Information Meeting

Dear Kindergarten & Transitional Kindergarten Parents,

Welcome to Kindergarten & Transitional Kindergarten at Myra Linn Elementary School, an AVID School!

I am Dr. Theresa Steele, your proud principal, and I am excited to be joined by our assistant principal, Mrs. Vickie Larkin. We eagerly await seeing your children on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 7. School starts at 8:00 am and dismissal is at 2:00 pm, except on Tuesdays when dismissal is at 12:45 pm. Our Back to School Night will be on Tuesday, August 6, from 3:00-4:30 pm, where you will meet your child’s teacher.

Until then, you are invited to attend a Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Virtual Information Meeting on Wednesday, July 31, at either 10:00 am or 4:00 pm. Both meetings will cover the same information, so you only need to attend one. A recorded session will also be available if you are unable to attend live. Join us on July 31 as I introduce you to some staff and share important information to ensure your child’s success on the first day and throughout the school year. I will be presenting details that will make the transition on the first day of school run smoothly.

Please check your emails and phone messages regularly to stay informed. Your support is crucial to making your child’s school experience a positive one.

Estimados padres de kindergarten y kindergarten de transición:

¡Bienvenidos al jardín de infantes y al jardín de infantes de transición de la escuela primaria Myra Linn, una escuela AVID!

Soy la Dra. Theresa Steele, su orgullosa directora, y estoy emocionada de que me acompañe nuestra subdirectora, la Sra. Vickie Larkin. Esperamos ansiosamente ver a sus hijos el primer día de clases, el miércoles 7 de agosto. Picture Day!

Picture day is Friday, August 2nd.
●This is a day when students and parents come from 8:00-2:00.
●Tour the school and show students where they will bedropped off and picked up.
●Take a school picture. Students will not be able to take apicture until they are enrolled in our school… or for returningstudents, data confirmation has to be completed. To ease theline, we have the suggested times-

  • 8-9:00 2nd grade
  • 9-10:00 1st grade
  • 10-11:00 TK/Kindergarten
  • 11- 12:00 3rd grade
  • 12-1:00 4th grade
  • 1:00-2:00 Preschool and 5th grade

Free Clinic (Open to the community)

All vaccines are on a first come first serve basis anddependent on availability.
Please bring your student’s current immunization recordto provide a copy to your student’s school.

      • 1st/2nd: dismissed through the gate on Meredith St.
      • 3rd/4th/5th dismissed at the gate by the office.

    The front Office Parking Loop will be for Pre-school and Buses ONLY!
