Absences

If student is absent please call the school  and let us know the reason, or write us a note with the name of the student, teacher, date and reason for the absence.  If you have a medical or dental appointment we strongly urge you to bring us a medical note that way we can mark the absences as medical.  This also includes if the child will be coming in late because of an appointment, if you provide a note we can mark it as an excused tardy.  Absences will be marked unexcused if the reason is not accepted by the state.

Unexcused Absences:

·     Vacation

·     Family Matters

·     Going out of the country

·     Personal

·     Doctor Appointments that do not pertain to student

Excused Absences are:

·     Medical/Dental (Must provide a doctor’s note)

·     Sick (Fever, Vomiting, Doctor’s order, Communicable Diseases)

·     Death in the family (Must specify relationship to child)

·     Court (Students who are mandated to be in court to testify or in relation to their custody)

Leaving early

When students leave school early, it not only interrupts the class but the learning process as well. Students should not be pulled out of class early. We urge you to please schedule appointments after school hours, or during school breaks.  If a student is taken out before class ends, it will be noted on their attendance record. If it’s for a medical reason, please provide a medical note in order to be excused.

Lates 

REGULAR and PUNCTUAL attendance to school is very important to a child’s education.  School starts at promptly at 7:55 am and Students should be in their seats by 7:55 am.  Please note that if students walk in to the office at 8:00 AM they are considered late.  To ensure that they do not come in late we highly recommend that you arrive at 7:45 AM.  This gives student time to get ready and be prepared to learn.  

Please remember that the law clearly places the responsibility for your child’s attendance on you, the parent/guardian.  Failure to report absences result in getting letters from the Alvord District and those who fail to meet this obligation may be subject to a referral to the School Attendance Review Board (SARB) at the Riverside Police Department.

FALTAS ESCOLARES

Si un estudiante está ausente favor de NOTIFICAR a la escuela y háganos saber la razón, o escriba una nota con el nombre del estudiante, maestro, fecha y motivo de la ausencia. Si usted tiene una cita médica o dental es muy recomendable que traigan una nota médica de esa manera podemos marcar las faltas como médicas. Esto también incluye si sus hijos vienen tarde debido a una cita, si usted provee una nota podemos marcarlo como tardanza justificada.
Las ausencias serán marcadas injustificadassi la razónno es aceptadapor el Estado.

Faltas Injustificadas:

• Vacaciones
• Asuntos Familiares
• Salir del País
• Personal
• Citas con el médico que no pertenecen directamente al estudiante.

 Faltas Justificadas:

• Medico/Dental (Debe proveer nota)
• Enfermedad (fiebre, vomito, orden del médico, enfermedades contagiosas)
• Muerte en la familia (Deberá especificarRelación al estudiante)
• Tribunal (Los estudiantes que tienen el mandato de comparecer ante el tribunal a testificar o en relación a su custodia)

SALIDAS TEMPRANO

Cuando los estudiantes salen de la escuela temprano, no sólo interrumpen la clase, pero también el proceso de aprendizaje. Los estudiantes no deben ser sacados de clase temprano. Le pedimos que por favor traten de programar citas para después de clases o durante las vacaciones.Si el estudiante es sacado antes de finalizar clases, se anotará en su registro de asistencia. Si por alguna razón médica por favor provea una nota médica para poder ser excusado.

LLEGADAS TARDE

La asistencia REGULAR y PUNTUAL a la escuela es muy importante para la educación de sus hijos. Las clases comienzan a las 7:55 AM los alumnos deben estar en sus asientos a las 7:55 AM. Tenga en cuenta que si el estudiante entra a la oficina a las 8:00 será considerado tarde. Para asegurarse de que no llegue tarde, le recomendamos llegar a las 7:45 AM. Esto les da tiempo a los estudiantes para prepararse y estar listos para aprender. 

 Por favor, recuerde que la ley coloca claramente la responsabilidad de la asistencia escolar de sus hijos en usted, el padre/ guardián. No informar sobre las ausencias resultará en recibir cartas del Distrito Alvord y aquellas personas queno cumplen conesta obligaciónpueden serreferidas a la Mesa Directiva deRevisión de Asistencia Escolar (SARB) del Departamento de Policía de Riverside.
